About About Giving, Inc.

Opening Doors to Opportunity Through Education

About Giving, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to expanding access to education, workforce development, and career opportunity for veterans, people with disabilities, and others who face barriers to professional advancement.

We believe education can change the direction of a life - and that access to practical learning can help people turn experience, ability, and determination into opportunity.

Our Mission

To expand opportunity by supporting education and workforce-development programs that help people build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue meaningful careers and stronger futures.

Our charitable focus includes veterans, people with disabilities, and other learners whose circumstances can make access to professional education more difficult.

Mentor and learner building opportunity through education

Our Story

About Giving was founded in 2011 as a 501(c)(3) public charity with a belief that charitable impact should create opportunity, not dependency.

Education became a central part of that mission because practical learning can give people tools they can carry throughout a career: knowledge, confidence, adaptability, and the ability to create value for themselves, their employers, and their communities.

About Giving established the Center for Business Acceleration (CBA) as its education and workforce-development organization. CBA has roots in veteran-focused education and has grown into a broader platform for workforce readiness, professional education, organizational resilience, risk management, business continuity, analytics, and leadership.

Our purpose is not to ask people to be defined by disability, military transition, or circumstance. It is to help ensure those circumstances do not close the door to opportunity.

Who We Aim to Support

Veterans

Support for veterans building civilian careers, professional pathways, and new opportunities after service.

People with Disabilities

Accessible learning and career-development opportunity designed to reduce barriers to participation.

People Facing Economic or Career Barriers

Education access for learners whose financial or life circumstances limit professional-development options.

Communities and Organizations

Stronger people create stronger workplaces, public institutions, families, and communities.

How About Giving Creates Impact

About Giving advances its charitable mission by supporting education and workforce-development initiatives that translate philanthropy into practical opportunity.

Center for Business Acceleration

CBA is About Giving's education and workforce-development organization, delivering practical education for veterans, professionals, and organizations.

VA Accelerator™

Veteran-focused education and career-development pathways rooted in CBA's longstanding commitment to veterans, including veterans with disabilities.

Education Access

Scholarships, grant-supported participation, learner assistance, and other mechanisms that reduce financial barriers to education.

Accessible Learning

Support for technology, learning design, accommodations, and services that make education more usable for a broader range of learners.

Workforce and Community Initiatives

Partnerships and grant-funded programs that build career capability and organizational resilience.

For many people, the barrier is not ability or ambition. It is access.

Career transition, disability-related barriers, financial limitations, technology needs, and changing workforce requirements can place professional education out of reach precisely when it is most valuable.

A contribution to About Giving helps expand access to the education, learner support, technology, and program development that make new opportunities possible.
